Question - answer
Our store offers a wide range of kiyo in both handmade and factory. Each master has his own characteristics. There is no 100% identical billiard cue, one way or another, the tools of any manufacturer will differ: for example, handmade products have a brighter and more stylish design, inlaid with precious stones, and are often made from the most expensive types of wood, while factory ones are more practical. The choice of a gaming cue depends primarily on your playing experience and finances. Beginners often buy factory-made products or handmade classics, while experienced billiard players buy cues and accessories with exclusive characteristics.
Turnjak is usually made from dense wood species, more than 20 varieties can be listed, but the main ones are: black hornbeam, thermo hornbeam, wenge, bokote, rosewood, padouk, amaranth, limewood, American walnut. Expensive breeds include: ebony, cocobolo, bokote, black palmyra, bilvara, etc.
Shaft in most cases is made of white hornbeam, sometimes and rarely black hornbeam or ash.
Twisting directly depends on the master. Most often, brass + steel, brass + bronze are used, less often titanium because of its lightness, which significantly changes the balance of the cue.
For proper transportation and storage of the cue, you definitely need a billiard tube, a case or a case. In order to save time and nerves, we recommend that you also buy chalk, and how about without a magnetic holder for it. Glove - optional.
In any case, purchasing a billiard cue from us, you will receive all of the above - AS A GIFT.
- The first thing you should pay attention to is the external condition and quality of the lacquer coating for the presence of scratches, air bubbles, chips, cracks, or other obvious deformations. Excellent billiard cue - smooth, well sanded and free of knots.
- Second: Evenness and symmetry of cuts. To detect the curvature of the tool, it is enough to roll the cue exactly on the table, and if the geometry is broken, then a gap will be visible between it and the table. But this only applies to cues with "Cone" geometry, because we know that some masters use other geometries, the so-called "Bottle" or "Half-Bottle", which adds "springiness" "vibration" and satisfies the subjective needs of players when performing complex shots ( "roll", "screw", "pull", etc.). Therefore, when checking a cue with the above geometry, it will not work to check by rolling on the table, just look at the rotating product with one eye. Also, a marriage is not a symmetrical pattern that is created by cuts.
- Third: checking the twist for nicks and roughness. Connect the parts of the cue and run your hand along the joint, if it is even and tight, then everything is in order. You can also light blows just below the middle to find out about the loosening of the twist thread, which can lead to unwinding or an unpleasant sound. After a couple of strokes with the palm of the hand, the cue should not make a sound of beating against the metal.
- All cues produced and sold by the Billia store undergo a thorough check by MMK Yurusov V.A., and if we notice even the slightest defect, we will certainly send the defective goods back to the manufacturer. But as a rule, this happens very rarely.
There are two options: single-layer and multi-layer
Single-layer: do not delaminate and are usually cheaper.
Multi-layered: less deformed and predictable when worn, more expensive.
Further, these 2 options are further divided into soft, medium and hard.
Solid - better transfer of energy from a strong impact, they are also called hard. They last longer and are less prone to deformation during strong impacts, but you need to chalk more often.
Medium hardness stickers are a compromise between Hard and Soft.
Soft stickers - hold the chalk well, perfectly work out blows with rotation.
Main dimensions: 11-14 mm. The diameter of the sticker is individual and depends on the level of the person's game and the type of game. Stickers 13-14 mm simplifies the game by smoothing out mistakes, and 11-12 mm will allow you to perform "point", more complex shots. Particular attention should be given to sharpening the sticker to an ideal hemisphere, this will allow you to strike at various parts of the cue ball and give all kinds of rotation.
