Zirikote bar blank for cue 40x40x600 mm Billiya
Ziricote is one of the most valuable and expensive breeds used in billiards. This is due to the fact that in addition to its beautiful appearance, this wood perfectly keeps its shape when external conditions change (temperature changes, humidity, etc.). Undoubtedly, Zirikote is excellent for making cue, because it has a high density - 970 kg / m³, so Zirikote is considered a very heavy breed. It is quite easy to process, but requires additional surface treatment due to the presence of a large amount of essential oils in the wood. But despite this, Zirikote sticks together well.
The high decorative value of wood is given by the veins found in the structure of the core. The older the tree, the darker the pattern structure.
Red-brown to almost chocolate-black in color, sometimes with a violet tinge. In addition to making billiard cues, it is often used to make knife handles and musical instruments. Also used for inlaying small valuable exclusive items such as watch frames, brooch rings, etc.
It grows in Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico, Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras and Belize.
